This 2005 Legend Lime Mustang GT Convertible is owned by Thomas H. Raber, which is named “Gator.” Here is my story. When I was looking for a new vehicle in August 2004, I realized the body of the Mustang style was changing. I decided to wait and order my Mustang, the way I wanted it. Due to the California mark up, I ordered my 2005 Legend Lime Ford Mustang GT Convertible in Las Vegas, NV from Friendly Ford on January 18, 2005. I purchased it on March 12, 2005. This stang is one of the first of the forty 2005 convertibles built from Ford and the first convertible sold out of Las Vegas, NV.
I wanted a retro color, so I choose the Legend Lime, which was Lime Gold in 1967, 1968 and 1969. I am one of the original members (LLR0013) of the www.LegendLimeRegistery.com after we meet on www.AllFordMustangs.com in January 2005. We now have over 660 members throughout the USA and internationally. We have a saying, “Once a Limer, always a Limer” or “They are the same, but yet different.”
My first car show was at the Fabulous Fords Forever at Knott’s in April 2005. There were only 23 2005 Mustangs there. Two were Legend Lime Mustangs and only one convertible, mine. I already had some modifications on my stang by then, SLP Loudmouths, Green Neon Undercarriage Lights, Billet Flame Rearview Mirror, Custom FONTECH Mats and UPR Products in the interior.
Since 2005 I have been an active member in Legend Lime Registry (LLR0013) and the Orange County Mustang Club (OCMC1307). In 2008 I joined Team Shelby (TS4335) and in 2009 joined LASAAC. The members of these clubs have grown to be personal friends of mine. My sign on name for all the clubs is Fontech. Feel free to send me a Personal Message (PM).
Being a member of the Orange County Mustang Club has been very fulfilling to say the least. They are a very well organized club, partially due to Frank Morales, the president of the club and his wife, Melinda Morales. Within the club, we have another group of Mustang owners. We are called “The Outlaws” and I am very proud of this
In 2006 my stang was chosen by Jesse Lyons of Need for Speed, for a new video game, Carbon for an audio recording of the Mustang that is on the game. I had a great day at Church Automotive Testing in Wilmington, CA. You have to love my SLP Loudmouth Exhaust. They sounded GREAT!
I added my Paxton Novi 2200 with intercooler which was installed in May of 2008 by Eric Cheney of Huntington Beach, CA. Other mods that were added at this time were a Meziere Electric Water Pump, two GT Supercar Fuel Pumps, JBA Short Ceramic Coated Headers, Steeda Delete Plates, Steeda Adjustable Panhard Bar, 39lb. Ford Racing EV1 Style Injectors, Prothane Engine Mounts, Autometer Instrumentation for Boost and Wideband and some polishing on the engine cover. Eric did a fantastic job installing and adding his touches to make my engine bay unique. I also at this time added my KillerGlass Pyrex radiator hose. Rock & Roll Custom Paint in Orange, CA did the custom paint in the engine bay. With the Paxton installed, there is now 420 rwhp and 398 torque.
Within two weeks after the Paxton install, I was at the 2008 Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup, and won the 2005-2008 Popular Vote Award. There were 555 Mustangs at this well organized event in Steamboat Springs, CO. Since then, my stang has been a very popular at the car shows and I have met numerous friends in return.
Being a member of Team Shelby has been a blast. In January 2009, I attended the Vegas Bash which celebrated Mr. Carroll Shelby’s 86th birthday. I had the pleasure of meeting and having a photo taken with him. That was priceless! Since then, I have been to the 2010 Vegas Bash and looking forward to the 2011 Vegas Bash.
Other mods have included graphic’s on the exterior and mural inside the hood by Yvonne Mecialis in Torrance, CA., 3 Piece Custom Wheels from NC Forged in Anaheim, CA, GT Styling Kit and Tonneau Cover from 3d Carbon in Costa Mesa, CA, GTS-3 Hood from TruFiber in Corona, CA, Classic Design Concepts products, UPR products and Shelby products and my latest, having my driveshaft and rear end painted by Alex Mackenzie at Mackenzie Mustang Supply in Palm Springs, CA.
I would like to thank, Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords for being at the 25th Fabulous Fords Forever in Buena Park, CA. Also, my thanks to the photographer Peter Linney and to the model Nicole Sierra.
