Peter’s Chevy pick up

Peter’s Chevy pick up

I have always liked the 1948 to 53 series pickups from Chevrolet, and I early saw that this was probably the world’s most popular pickup.. Ja,, sure, many arguments there. But time will show. So when I had the chance to buy a quiet stock sample with a great patina, I jumped.. Here I had the chance to get to know this sweet-looking truck. My daughters was used to my very first American car, a 1953 Cadillac convertible that I restored from the ground up. The first I did on this truck was to get rid of its manual steering and transmission. Its motor ran well but was a bit underpowered, so I added a carburetor, and it picked up good. But this was a truck made for a farm and it had a very beefy back suspension, it was a real pain to drive. Instead of taking it all out, I decided to remove 3 blades from its suspension, and its drive improved really well. I am a stickler for safety, so I installed shoulder belts. And I put a break light on the top at the back so other cars can see when I was breaking. It got a new bed of nice wood, new carpets, and great white wall tires, which makes such a big difference to its look. Power windows were installed, though with just a little opening at the bottom of the door, it was probably the worst job I did on this truck. It soon became my everyday driver in Los Angeles, it created great good will and many offers to buy that I gave into, and off I was to Arizona to buy a new one of the same model, restoring the first one gave me a very positive feeling towards the trk. So I will soon start the build of the new one, but this time in Norway where I now live, and every part of the restauration will be recorded and transmitted here on Hogsnrods.com
